The award was announced during a live TV-show on February 26, 2005 (in Oslo). The CD Aejlies Gaaltije was made by Frode Fjellheim with a strong contribution from the rest of the Transjoik members.
Spellemannsprisen is the annual celebration of the best Norwegian CD releases. Frode Fjellheim and Tansjoik were two out of five nominees in the "open" category - a category previously won by artists like; Mari Boine, Nils Petter Molvær, Sidsel Endresen/Bugge Wesseltoft and Niko Valkeapää.
